Testimony of a student survivor of the police attack on September 26th, 2014

Omar Perez, a student at the Normal Raúl Isidro Burgos comments on the role of students at normal schools.
“It changed everything for me. I would watch the news reports that would say ‘this happened,’ and I’d think ‘that’s right.’ But here you become aware of the reality that is the state, and the atrocities of the government, the many many dead poor people, who only fight for justice, for their land, for their water, and their natural resources. You see that the government represses, murders and disappears its people. You see the system you live in, and and realize that us, as students, should be the ones to change these things,” (www.jornada.unam.mx/2015/01/24/politica/007n1pol)
